Dr Paul Hurrion has gained international recognition in many sports specialising in biomechanical, sporting and equipment analysis utilising a range of high speed and linked cameras, multi-screen computers, specialist 2D and 3D Software, and pressure platforms. He is a Sports Science Panel advisor for UK Athletics; works with British Diving; and assists R&D in shoe development for Hi-Tec Sports. Paul’s passion is golf and he was very pleased to accept an invitation to be a Member of the Biomechanics Advisory Board of the prestigious Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) in San Diego. His specialism in golf is perhaps best known though his work on putting with Padraig Harrington over recent years and Padraig’s three major wins where his putting in particular stood the test of extreme pressure. Paul’s Quintic Putting Laboratory has been running for a number of years and has become well known having featured in many golf magazine articles – it is used by the many top European Tour Players.

Dr Paul Hurrion’s biomechanical and hi-tech approach to this “game within a game” is unique. The use of the lab’s cameras, computers and analysis software, together with Paul’s knowledge, will demonstrate to you things the human eye misses.

Masterclass Outline

This Masterclass for Professional Golfers will be highly interactive, involving plenty of practical work and examples. Detailed biomechanical analysis with high-speed cameras, synchronised force platform and computer analysis, will demonstrate the technical elements of the putting stroke. It will demonstrate how the golfer can improve technique, develop a sound repeatable putting stroke and become more consistent. The workshop will also cover the concepts of skid and roll, pace control and green reading. All delegates will improve their knowledge of the process of putting for their own benefit and for coaching others
